近日，应农学院与甘肃省干旱生境作物学重点实验室邀请，美国德克萨斯理工大学（Texas Tech University）农业与自然资源学院副院长David C. Weindorf博士来我校进行了为期两天的访问和学术交流。
期间，David 博士为学院研究生和本科生分别做题为“Between Earth and Sky: exploring the impact of global climate change through the prism of arctic soils and ecosystems;和Polished Publications: A guide of how to plan, construct, and successfully guide a scientific paper through the peer review process”的学术报告，并在农学院与实验室相关人员的陪同下，考察了干旱生境作物学重点实验室与农学院定西试验站。
David C. Weindorf博士简介 （CASNR official Biography）
He is a nationally recognized expert in land-use planning and a Fulbright Scholar, was named Associate Dean for Research on July 1, 2014. He leads Texas Tech University’s College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources’ international programs and research administration efforts, including international research and development efforts, research program management, budgetary oversight, and research compliance issues.
Weindorf joined the Tech faculty after serving six years as an associate professor and assistant professor of soil classification/land use at Louisiana State University. “Prior to that he served as an assistant professor of soil science at Tarleton State University. In addition, Weindorf served as coach of the intercollegiate soils judging teams at Tarleton State and LSU. He received his bachelor’s degree in range management, a master’s degree in soil science, and doctorate in agronomy from Texas Tech. In the past, the Austin native has focused his research efforts on the development of applications for new technologies in field soil survey, land use management/planning, remote sensing, environmental quality assessment, compost science and international translational soil taxonomy.
